- The focus of this course is globalization - in terms of free mobility of goods, capital and people - analyzed from a macroeconomic perspective as well as from the firm's point of view. What determines comparative advantages and gives rise to international trade? Which effects do free trade and protectionism produce? Why and when does a firm make international outsourcing? Why multinational firms exist? We will answer these and other questions, by means of economic theory and of the most up-to-date empirical evidence.
