The world’s best resources on gender and science

An internet portal for sharing knowledge and inspiring collaborative action on gender and science

'GenPORT' is a European project which seeks to advance, through exchange of practical information, gender equality in science, technology and innovation. It is funded by the European Commission, but has global ambitions. Over the coming four years, the project will establish an online community of practitioners - organisations and individuals already working in the field of gender equality in science, technology and innovation across the world.

The purpose of the project is to organise and make available, through an internet portal, the variety of research findings, practical materials and policy information that exists in this field. With feedback and debate on all these resources, the portal will facilitate the exchange of experiences and foster collaboration, so assisting continuing policy and practical interventions in pursuit of gender equality. Our aim is to support a vibrant online community shaped by the activities and contributions of all of its members.

The project is receiving financial support from the European Commission from May 2013 to April 2017, through the European Union's 7th Framework Programme (FP7) on Science in Society.

Project start date: 15 May 2013
