Philosophical studies focuses on various topics.

  • History of philosophy and of the sciences from the Greeks until the recent times: the pre-Socratic and Aristotle, the theory of passions in the middle age and in Thomas from Aquinas, the philosophical and artistic culture during the Renaissance – Gemisto Pletone, Pico della Mirandola and Dürer –life sciences and medicine in the modern age, the empirical tradition in England – Hume and Shaftesbury – the transcendental philosophy from Kant to Schopenhauer;

  • Logic and Philosophy of computing. The problem of analyticity, the theory of rational thinking and the philosophy of probability.

  • Philosophy of the language and analytic philosophy in the tradition from Wittgenstein to Davidson and Quine.

  • The political thinking with particular interest for the pacifistic tradition.
