Corrosion and corrosion protection of metals

Short description of the research team

Thematic fields of interest/research areas: The research activity deals with the study of corrosion and corrosion protection of metals.
In particular, the more recent research topics are the following ones:
- development of protective coatings for metals of industrial and historical/artistic interest
- corrosion inhibition by organic substances
- corrosion behaviour of industrial alloys in conditions relevant to their application (lean duplex stainless steels for oil and gas field, corrosion and tribocorrosion of metallic and ceramic materials for biomedical applications, study of rebar corrosion behavior in traditional and innovative concretes)
